This is the announcement that fans have been waiting for! Finally, the exact release date of “Dr. Stone season 2 is out and it was posted along with the anime’s newest trailer.
On Dec. 7, TMS Entertainment unveils the preview and it was uploaded on the social media page of the anime. The second season will be featuring the “Stone Wars” arc where a clash between Senku’s Science Kingdom and Tsukasa’s Empire is expected to happen.
The release date
As posted, the second installment of “Dr. Stone” is set to premiere on Jan. 14, 2021, and as usual, it will be available on Crunchyroll. The announcement is an early gift to the fans who have been waiting for a long time for the return of Senku Ishigami and his villager friends.
It has been a year since the first season ended so this is truly a treat to the followers of the show. Then again, it was not mentioned how many episodes that TMS Entertainment is releasing for “Dr. Stone” season 2. Still, it would be great if it will offer at least 24 episodes just like the debut installment.
Spoilers and plot prediction
In any case, the trailer showed many things that can be expected in the upcoming new season. The conflict between Senku and Tsukasa has been highlighted plus the latter’s new allies were shown.
As previously reported by EconoTimes, new characters were added to Japanese Science-themed animation and all of them are on Tsukasa’s side. There are three new faces and they are Saionji Ukyo (voiced by Kensho Ono), Yo Uei (voiced by Yoshiki Nakajima) and Hanada Niki who will be voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki. The three have been nicknamed the “Three Great Nobles of the Empire.”
Furthermore, it was previously reported that the upcoming installment will also show Tsukasa creating a new empire to further his tribe. Senku is also said to be building his own new civilization and this may mean that the “Stone Wars” arc will feature a great clash between two powerful groups. As to who will emerge as victorious in the end will remain a mystery until the end of “Dr. Stone” season 2.
