The E3 2018 keynote of Electronic Arts has ended and it came with plenty of surprises for attendees. The most significant were the updates for major titles which were already known to the industry. In addition, the event also saw the reveal of several new games and features. Among them are a new title from the “Star Wars” universe and a Battle Royale mode for “Battlefield V.”
EA kicked off the event with BioWare’s upcoming multiplayer sci-fi game “Anthem,” which is scheduled for launch in February 2019. Along with the release window, the publisher also offered a few more details about the shared world that players will be living in. There was also additional gameplay footage to get fans hyped for the game.
Moving on from “Anthem,” EA talked about how “Battlefield V” is going to have a Battle Royale mode and destructible environments, Kotaku reports. Players will basically be able to wreck practically any building or structure they want. They can even run a tank right through a building and shoot rival gamers right in the face.
What’s more, it seems microtransactions and premium passes are not going to be included. This should come as good news for those who have issues with modern, in-game economies.
A less satisfying revelation during the event is the new game that development studio Respawn is working on, which is called “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.” That’s it. No details, no specifics, nothing.
On the matter of smaller announcements, The Verge provides a list that covers two promising titles that EA revealed. One is “Unravel Two,” which is the sequel to the yarn-based platformer. Many gamers fell in love with the adorable protagonist, as well as the smart use of puzzles in the game.
The other is the indie title “Sea of Solitude,” which is an incredible game about loneliness and depth. It features a protagonist named Kay, who must search for companions or risk becoming a monster.
