ATLANTA, Jan. 12, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EarthLink (EarthLink Holdings Corp.) (NASDAQ:ELNK) a leading provider of managed network, security and cloud solutions for multi-location businesses announced today that it will exhibit at the 2016 National Retail Federation’s Big Show Expo in New York City, Jan. 17 – 20, 2016. At the expo, EarthLink will demonstrate new technology that helps solve the challenges associated with cloud based application performance. The solution combines hybrid networking with software-defined application visibility and control that transforms IT into a strategic business driver. This upgraded WAN design allows retailers to deliver a better customer experience by cost effectively adding bandwidth while gaining visibility and control of application performance.
“The mobile device explosion continues to push the demands for greater bandwidth,” said Rick Froehlich, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at EarthLink. “We partner with retailers to deploy the right bandwidth with improved application performance to help meet the demands of their increasingly mobile consumers.”

- Playing off of the theme of Building Smart Networks, LEGO® model artist Eric Hunter is building a model of the Chrysler Building out of LEGO® blocks. EarthLink will hold a drawing to see who gets the closest to guessing how many blocks are used in the construction. See the construction underway on Jan. 17 & 18.
- EarthLink will donate $75 to the Retail Orphan Initiative (RetailROI), an organization that helps raise awareness and provide real solutions for 400 million vulnerable children worldwide, for every retailer, analyst or media member that visits and has their badge scanned at the booth. This is part of an ongoing initiative EarthLink is undertaking that has resulted in more than $25,000 going to RetailROI’s partner Safe Families for Children.
“We encourage retailers to come see what is new and how we are making an impact on businesses around the country,” said Gerard Brossard, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Enterprise/Mid-Market and Information Technology at EarthLink. “Whether it is a specialty retailer or a large nation-wide restaurant chain, we are helping optimize their business and cloud networks to create a foundation for the Smart Networks of the future.”
