Egis Group and SiPearl are targeting 2027 engineering samples of a chiplet processor platform that SiPearl plans to use in its next-generation Rhea2 CPU, extending cooperation between Taiwan and France.

The companies announced cooperation and investment agreements in Taipei on Oct. 22. Their platform, Mobius100 (M100), is being developed by SiPearl and Alcor Micro, an Egis subsidiary. SiPearl intends to carry M100’s design into Rhea2, though the announcement gives no launch date for that processor.

M100 is intended for high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and data centers. The companies say it draws on Arm Neoverse V3 technology and Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express (UCIe) 2.0 intellectual property from Egis subsidiary InPsytech. UCIe is an open specification for connecting chiplets inside a package.

The design uses a dual-die package and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s N3P process. The companies list 140 cores, including 12 redundant cores, support for DDR5-12800 MRDIMM memory and eight UCIe 2.0-S chiplet interfaces. The announcement does not provide independent performance benchmarks.

The partners also plan to align the platform with customer and system requirements and coordinate plans to bring it to market. Egis Group Chairman Steve Lo said artificial intelligence and high-performance computing were shifting attention “from individual nodes to complete platforms and ecosystems.” SiPearl CEO and founder Philippe Notton said, “Europe and Taiwan bring complementary strengths.”

A separate Oct. 21 board notice from Alcor Micro said it planned to acquire warrants in SiPearl SAS for €5 million. The notice describes a planned transaction and does not state that Alcor Micro has acquired the warrants.

SiPearl said Sept. 22 that it had delivered its first Rhea1 CPU samples to Bull for integration into Germany’s JUPITER supercomputer. For M100, the companies target engineering samples in 2027 and volume production in the second half of 2028. Actual timing will depend on development and validation progress, as well as customer requirements.
