A video that runs for more than six minutes was recently uploaded online, reportedly showing the “Elden Ring” character creation system. Meanwhile, the upcoming RPG remains one of the most anticipated games, especially among PC gamers on Steam.
Leaked ‘Elden Ring’ character creation shows massive improvements
The video, first spotted by Eurogamer, was uploaded by YouTuber ER-SA, who may have gotten access to it through the closed network test From Software conducted for “Elden Ring” late last year. Video game fans were quick to point out the improvements in the upcoming game’s character creation system in terms of the wide array of customization options and character models.
Most details and option labels are blurred out, so the leak does not reveal every choice that could be available in the “Elden Ring” character creation. But it shows nine categories that measure Character Status, including character level, vigor, mind, endurance, strength, dexterity, intelligence, faith, and arcane. All categories, except level, begin at 10.
YouTube user ER-SA demonstrated the abundance of options when it comes to hairstyles. Meanwhile, there are individual sliders to adjust different parts of the body. The leak also suggests players can open a color picker panel to adjust colors for the hair and skin tone. In the video, ER-SA was able to save a character with a green skin tone.
Since the character creation system was likely captured during the closed network test, it would not be surprising if the final array of options and its UI would have some changes once the “Elden Ring” is released next month. But the leaked video is still a good indication of the improvements to expect from From Software’s next IP.
Steam players are most excited about ‘Elden Ring’
It is no secret that “Elden Ring” is one of the most anticipated games in 2022. It won Most Anticipated Game two years in a row at The Game Awards 2020 and 2021. Golden Joystick Awards 2021 also named it the Most Wanted Game.
It is then not surprising that “Elden Ring” was found to be the number one game on the current Top Wishlists on Steam. The ranking does not provide exact details, though, like how many players have placed the game on their lists. If the anticipation for the game continues, it might be able to retain the stop until it releases on Friday, Feb. 25 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
