‘The Elder Scrolls 6’ release date will definitely arrive - Bethesda's Todd Howard already confirmed that the studio is working on it in E3 2018. But the bad news is, it’s going to be a long wait for fans.
Bethesda Is Working on “The Elder Scrolls 6”
The good news is that “The Elder Scrolls 6” is definitely in the works. Bethesda already confirmed that it is working on the “Skyrim” sequel a couple of years ago.
Bethesda executive Todd Howard made the confirmation back in E3 2018, as reported by PC Gamer. The studio even released a brief “The Elder Scrolls 6” trailer to tease fans of the franchise. Surprisingly, the game wasn’t mentioned the following year in E3 2019.
Another Title Is Pushing Back “The Elder Scrolls 6” Release
At the moment, there is no official “The Elder Scrolls 6” release date yet. Apparently, Bethesda is hard at work with another title, “Starfield,” which it plans to release earlier.
But that doesn’t mean that “The Elder Scrolls 6” won’t happen. “I think everyone should be very patient,” Howard told IGN in E3 2019.
But that’s not stopping fans from speculating when it might come out. Since “Starfield” is set for launch in 2020 or 2021, the consensus is that “The Elder Scrolls 6” release might happen by 2021 at the earliest.
“The Elder Scrolls 6” NPC
One thing that’s for certain is the inclusion of one YouTuber as an NPC in the upcoming game. Bethesda already announced that Shirley Curry, who is more popularly known as “Skyrim Grandma,” will be one of the NPCs in “The Elder Scrolls 6.”
“This means a lot to me because I would be extremely happy to know that somebody else was playing with my character in a future Elder Scrolls game,” Curry said, extremely delighted to be immortalized in the upcoming title.
“The Elder Scrolls 6” Setting
With little information to go on, one of the favorite topics that fans love to speculate on is the game’s possible location. A gamer analyzed the brief “ES 6” trailer and came to the conclusion that it’s likely to be set in Hammerfell.
“I used my professional photography software to clear up and enhance a picture from the 30-second trailer from E3 so I could try to figure out the next game setting (it's been 8 yrs since Skyrim they should at least give us a location),” kaylenivy posted on Reddit. “After lots of comparing and research, I'm 99% sure it’s Hammerfell.”
Meanwhile, Tech Radar scratched out Hammerfell as a possible location. “Previous games have taken us to Highrock, Hammerfell, Morrowind, Cyrodil, and Skyrim,” the publication wrote. “Valenwood, Elsweyr and Black Marsh are the biggest places left to explore.”
Rumors floating around say that the game might be set in the Black Marsh, which is the home of the reptilian Argonian race. While there’s no evidence to back this rumor, Tech Radar agreed that the location could make for a nice geographic change for the series.
And it would also open up a lot of possibilities for Bethesda. “It’s probably the region of Tamriel that we know the least about so Bethesda would have plenty of room to be creative,” the publication wrote.
