‘Empire’ season 3’s episode 8, entitled “The Unkindest Cut,” will follow Andre as he does something extreme to help thrust Nessa into the spotlight.
The synopsis for “The Unkindest Cut” posted on TV Guide reads, “In order to get Nessa (Sierra McClain) into the spotlight, Andre (Trai Byers) sabotages Tiana's (Serayah McNeill) big appearance at a fashion event;
Tariq (Morocco Omari) teams up with Leah (Leslie Uggams) to bring down Lucious (Terrence Howard); and Jamal (Jussie Smollet) hopes working with Philip (guest star Juan Antonio) will help him finally overcome his PTSD.”
It seems that Andre’s transformation into a ruthless counterpart of his father will continue as he schemes his way into ruining his family’s business while thrusting his new lady love Nessa into stardom.
Although the eldest Lyon son is the most educated compared to his younger siblings, he shows a power hungry side when emotions cloud his judgment. Andre may have contributed a lot for Empire, but his lack of musical talent strained his relationship with his father Lucious.
In the promo, Andre tells Nessa that his late wife Rhonda used to take care of him but Nessa says, “I’m not gonna do any of those things for you.” Meanwhile, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) tells her son, “You’re changing in some ways that I’m not sure I got a handle on.” Perhaps she is seeing through Nessa’s influence over Andre.
According to Yahoo!, a sneak peak video for episode 8 shows Cookie getting ready for her fashion show. However, Nessa is working with Andre to disrupt his mother’s event. Nessa even “accidentally” puts Tiana’s jacket on fire.
‘Empire’ season 3’s episode 8, entitled “The Unkindest Cut,” is scheduled to air on Fox on December 7, 2016. It will be followed by episode 9, entitled "A Furnace For Your Foe," scheduled for December 14.
The musical drama television series is based in New York City and focuses on Empire Entertainment and the drama that surrounds the members of the founder’s company.
