In the latest update for “Fortnite,” Epic Games issued balancing changes to the damages inflicted by shotguns and traps. The company also announced that the Jetpack is going to be vaulted for a while.
Epic Games announced some immediate adjustments applied to “Fortnite” in a blog post on Wednesday. “We’ve identified some strategies that are overly dominant and we’ll be making some adjustments today. Going forward we’ll continue to monitor how we can best support that gameplay variety,” the developer explained.
One of the more important changes was applied to the damages caused by shotguns. The damage that this weapon inflicts has been toned down. Epic Games explained that it has observed a lot of players favoring the use of shotguns because these guns were much stronger than they should be.
To address the issue, Epic Games reduced Pump Shotgun’s headshot multiplier from 2.5 to 2.0 while its damage was decreased from 90/95 to just 80/85. The same headshot multiplier change was also applied in the Tactical Shotgun.
Meanwhile, the developers are continuously working on several shotgun-related gameplays. For example, they will soon make shotgun accuracy more stable and promised that every missed shot will be more visible in future patches. Epic Games assured gamers that calibrating “Fortnite” shotguns is one of their priorities in continuously updating the title.
Meanwhile, the latest patch had an opposite effect on Traps. After decreasing its damage a few weeks ago, Epic Games seemed to have realized that it did not help in encouraging players to execute varied strategies in combat. So, as of Wednesday, the developers brought the Traps damage back up to 150 from 75.
Also in the previous weeks, the Jetpack has been a well-received addition to the game’s Limited Time mode. However, players should make the best out of it now as Epic Games announced that it is vaulting this item on Monday, June 11, at 8 a.m.
Note, though, that the Jetpack will return and Epic Games promised that it will come back with several improvements. However, the schedule for that remains unknown.
