The Epic Games Store’s Mega Sale of the year opened this week by offering a free game. Other promos, including discounts on new titles, will run for almost a month.
Epic Mega Sale 2021 opens with a free download of ‘NBA 2K21’
In Epic Games’ bid to compete in the PC digital store race, the company holds various events featuring limited-time offers that often include free downloads of full games. The Epic Mega Sale has returned on Thursday starting with a 100 percent discount on 2K Games’ “NBA 2K21.”
Basketball and video game fans who have yet to purchase the game can now get “NBA 2K21” for free on PC via the Epic Games Store for a week or until May 27, at 11 p.m. (local time). The game’s regular price is $59.99 for the base game, which gives players access to its popular game modes MyCAREER, MyTEAM, MyLEAGUE, and the Neighborhood.
Those who do not have a PC with needed technical specs to run the game can still download “NBA 2K21” for free as Epic Mega Sale only requires an active Epic Games account. They can download and add the game to their library, so they can play it once they have set up a proper gaming PC.
On the Epic Games Store home page, fans will also find that a “mystery game” is already lined up for the next free download promo. This should be available once the free download for “NBA 2K21” expires next week. This cycle is likely to continue through the end of the Epic Mega Sale on June 17.
Other Epic Mega Sale 2021 offers worth checking right now
PC gamers who do not mind spending some money can also check a list of other games currently discounted through the Epic Mega Sale. It is worth noting that the highlighted offers right now include a couple of popular titles that were just released a few months ago.
Ubisoft’s “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla” is currently available with a 25 percent discount, bringing the game’s price down to $44.99 from $59.99. Epic Mega Sale also comes at a good time for gamers who may want to check out “Cyberpunk 2077” now that CD Projekt has delivered several major patches to improve its gameplay. The futuristic RPG is priced at $47.99 (from $59.99) right now after a 20 percent discount.
