Euro area GDP grew 0.4% q/q. The economist nonetheless finds the data encouraging given the broad based growth.
Not since 2010 have all four major European economies of Germany, France, Italy and Spain registered quarterly growth.
On a national level, German GDP (0.3% q/q) missed expectations but France (0.6% q/q) and Italy (0.3% q/q) both came in higher than expected.
