FXStreet reported that United Overseas Bank (UOB) strategists expect the British pound to stay between $1.3360 and $1.3420 near term, with a clear break above $1.3435 needed for sustained gains over one to three weeks.

FXStreet attributed the assessment to Quek Ser Leang and Lee Sue Ann. It reported that they raised their support level to $1.3330 from $1.3310 while maintaining a constructive outlook.

For Nov. 2, the outlet gave a $1.3360-$1.3420 trading band. It separately identified $1.3435 as resistance for the one-to-three-week outlook, with a clear break above that price needed for sustained gains.

The pound-dollar pair reached $1.3433 on Friday, Oct. 30, before pulling back, FXStreet reported. ExchangeRates.org.uk and Yahoo Finance also list $1.3433 as that day's high.

FXStreet's Oct. 30 report said the strategists would look toward $1.3450 only after a clear break above $1.3420.
