On Oct. 19, Dubai maintenance provider Falcon Technic reported inspecting a Gulfstream G550’s right-hand nose landing gear door over suspected damage, with several specialist teams needed for follow-up work.

The company said one of its non-destructive testing (NDT) engineers completed the inspection in around seven hours. It identified the methods as Ultrasonic Testing and BondMaster Pitch-Catch, carried out under original equipment manufacturer (OEM) instructions.

Falcon Technic did not describe the suspected damage or disclose the inspection findings. It said its NDT, Structures and Sheet Metal, and Painting Shop teams were required for the next stage.

Falcon Technic, part of Alex Group Investment, said Jan. 23 it had received approval from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) for line maintenance, defect rectification and scheduled inspections on G550 and G450 aircraft up to 12-month and 1A limits. The company placed those services at Dubai World Central.
