NEW YORK, July 19, 2017 -- Fiduciary Trust Company International, a global wealth manager and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton Investments, today announced that Paulina Mejia has joined the firm as regional managing director, head of its New York office, and trust counsel. Ms. Mejia’s responsibilities will include overseeing the company’s private wealth business in New York, with a focus on building the business in the Greater New York region and working directly with high-net-worth clients to develop and implement charitable, estate and wealth transfer plans. She will also serve as a member of Fiduciary Trust’s Operating Committee.

Ms. Mejia joins Fiduciary Trust with more than 15 years of experience working with wealthy clients on complex trust and estate matters. Most recently, she served as the head of Atlantic Trust’s Wealth Strategies Group and as senior wealth strategist in the firm’s New York office. Previously, Ms. Mejia was a wealth planner at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. and an attorney in the trust and estates division of Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP in New York. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law School and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College.

She also serves on several legal industry boards and committees, including the American Bar Association's Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law, and is a co-chair of the organization’s Non-Tax Issues Affecting the Planning and Administration of Estates and Trusts Committee. She is also a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York’s Trusts, Estates & Surrogate’s Court Committee.
