The FinTech Connection Forum, held on 20th April at Draper University's San Mateo headquarters, successfully demonstrated how bitcoin may be best regarded as a niche subject of interest in the larger financial world.
The event provided a day-long forum for discussing on the wider scope that could be attained by disrupting the financial industry, pointing out at times how bitcoin and blockchain technology could play a part in this societal transformation.
Tim Draper was perhaps the most enthusiastic about the technology, and in his opening speech he praised bitcoin and the underlying blockchain technology.
"There are some laggard industries that are really big and one of them is finance. Finance could easily be as transformed as the music industry when Napster came. I think it's these companies and others that are going to make that happen", Draper told the audience.
