“Final Fantasy 7 Remake” has been one of the most elusive projects in the video game industry for the longest time, with news about the game being scant and developer comments being rare. Right now, the official word is that the game is still being developed and will be released. However, fans are beginning to doubt that this is going to happen at all.
The idea of remaking a classic video game like “Final Fantasy 7” was something of a pipe dream for fans until it was announced back in 2014. It has been four years since then and Tetsuya Nomura’s recent comments suggest that “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” is now out of early development, Otaku Art reports. This provides gamers with the hope that the game might come out soon.
On the other hand, the same team working on “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” are also involved in developing “Kingdom Hearts 3.” With the latter being so close to release, it’s only natural that it would get the bulk of the attention from the developers compared to the former. Unfortunately, going so long without any news has made some fans start questioning whether or not the game will ever release at all.
The forum site Giant Bomb has even started a poll on the matter, asking users if they believe that “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” is going to be released. Based on the results, it would seem that there are still more fans who believe in Nomura and his team. After all, “Kingdom Hearts 3” was facing the same issues with delays and yet it’s already set for release early next year.
If the “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” is going to follow the same pattern as the third and final installment in the “Kingdom Hearts” franchise, it’s possible that a 2020 release date could happen. This is based purely on Nomura’s comments that it is out of early development.
