- Annual survey recognizes and honors the best employers in Massachusetts
BURLINGTON, Mass., Nov. 17, 2017 -- Flexion Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq:FLXN) today announced that it has been named one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts in the 10th annual employee-based survey project conducted by The Boston Globe. The Top Places to Work 2017 will be published in The Boston Globe Magazine on November 19, and the results can also be found online at www.globe.com/topplaces.
The survey identifies and recognizes top workplaces through confidential employee opinions about their company’s direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement. Flexion ranked 11th out of 25 in the small company category which includes organizations that had 50 to 99 employees at the time of the survey.
“We are truly honored to receive this award, which is really a reflection of our employees,” said Michael Clayman, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Flexion. “Our people are the foundation of Flexion’s success, and it is a privilege to lead this remarkable team. They are the reason that Flexion is such a special place to work.”
Flexion is distinguished by five core values that define its culture – focus, ingenuity, tenacity, transparency and fun. These values serve as the pillars upon which co-founders, Dr. Clayman and Neil Bodick, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer, established and grew Flexion.
“Our winning companies are all in on a secret,” said Katie Johnston, The Globe’s Top Places to Work editor. “Treating employees well isn’t that difficult, and the payoff -- increased morale, retention, and productivity -- is huge.”
The rankings in the Top Places to Work are based on confidential survey information collected by Energage (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention, from nearly 75,060 individuals at 334 Massachusetts organizations. The winners share a few key traits, including offering progressive benefits, ensuring their employees have a voice, and encouraging them to have some fun while doing important work.
