Fans who have been waiting for “Food Wars” Season 4 to premiere may have to wait a little longer because the anime series isn’t going to air anytime soon.
According to reports, “Food Wars” Season 4 is likely to come out next year to give the manga writer Yuto Tsukuda and illustrator Shun Saeki some breathing room to stay ahead of the anime.
“As we mentioned earlier in our other posts, the third season adapted up to chapter 217 of the Shokugeki no Soma manga. So for the time being, I don’t think that the fourth season will be announced,” Gift Imade said in an article on ToriBaze.
“In my opinion, the likeliest date for the release of Shokugeki no Soma Season 4 is either Summer 2019, or Fall 2019. The show has a history of coming out in the Summer, so I think that Food Wars Season 4 coming out in June makes a lot more sense.”
The fourth season is believed to be called Yon no Sara (Fourth Plate) since the previous seasons were called San no Sara (Third Plate) and Ni no Sara (Second Plate). The trailer for “Food Wars” Season 4 doesn’t really reveal much, but many believed the season would feature the Promotion Exams arc since it was already teased in the third season with the coup at Totsuki.
The trailer also hinted that snow would play a big part in “Food Wars” Season 4. Interestingly, a lot of the scenes in the Promotion Exams arc take place during snowstorms as they travel by train to the mountains.
While waiting for “Food Wars” Season 4, fans of the series may check out the source manga if they want to find out what happens next as the members of the Totsuki rebel faction take on Central's new Elite Ten.
