“Frozen 2” is less than a year away from its official premiere, which makes the lack of official trailer fairly understandable. But there are speculations that the first-look on the blockbuster animated film’s sequel might launch this month. And has Disney found a way to make the love story of Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Jack Frost (Chris Pine, “Rise of the Guardians”) happen somehow?
The release of official trailers happen without prior announcements and they typically arrive several months prior to the confirmed premiere date of a movie. But with a franchise as big as “Frozen 2,” it is not surprising for Disney to do things the unconventional way.
Rumors about the release of the “Frozen 2” trailer this month originated from a tweet posted by Collider editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub. He explained that “December is ALWAYS a huge month for new trailers.”
Weintraub then encouraged Disney fans to expect the first preview on “Frozen 2” and the untitled “Star Wars: Episode 8” this month. He also seemed confident that these will launch on Christmas Day. If this speculation pans out, December is certainly a great month for Disney fans considering that the official trailer for “Avengers 4: Endgame” just came out a week ago.
Meanwhile, many fans are seriously hoping to see Queen Elsa and Jack Frost on the same screen. There were online petitions that had thousands of supporters but, as explained in a previous report, there is little to no chance to see this coming true in “Frozen 2.” Then there was the speculation that Queen Elsa’s love interest (if she would find one in the sequel) might be Disney’s own take on the mythical character of Jack Frost.
Aside from Idina Menzel, voice actors for the main characters in the first film including Kristen Bell as Princess Anna, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, and Josh Gad as Olaf reprised their respective roles. “Frozen 2” is slated to premiere on Nov. 22, 2019.
