At this point in the spin-off series, many important life events have happened, especially in “Fuller House” season 4. Unfortunately, the family has been missing one of the original cast members -- Michelle Tanner played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
A quick glance at the list of the cast members in “Fuller House” season 4 and the original series “Full House” will show that Michelle is the only one missing. However, the producers and writers of the Netflix show are loyal in keeping Michelle’s character alive, though, without an on-screen appearance.
Aside from a few flashback scenes, the remaining characters have mentioned Michelle multiple times subtly providing fans an update about the character. The latest mention of Michelle happened right in the “Fuller House” season 4 premiere.
The latest installment opens at “four o’clock on Christmas Eve” but only D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure) seems to be looking forward to celebrating Christmas the right way. She then reminds the other characters glued on the TV watching “Die Hard” that Danny (Bob Saget), Jesse (John Stamos), and Becky (Lori Loughlin) were in New York to spend Christmas with Michelle.
Interestingly, Michelle’s present life was written resembling the real-life careers of the Olsen twins who are now famously known as fashion designers.
With a baby arriving in “Fuller House” season 4, it is quite understandable why some fans would speculate on Michelle’s supposed surprise comeback. But as long as the “Fuller House” series is not canceled yet, there is still a chance for this to become a reality considering that one of the Olsen twins implied she is open to reprising the role.
CinemaBlend suggested that if Michelle is to ever come back on set, the production will most likely just sign either Mary Kate or Ashley. And this somehow supports the Olsen twins’ actual response when offered to join the “Fuller House” series.
“Ashley said, ‘I have not been in front of a camera since I was 17, and I don’t feel comfortable acting.’ Mary-Kate said, 'It would have to be me because Ash doesn’t want to do it. But the timing is so bad for us,'” “Fuller House” executive producer Bob Boyett told PEOPLE in 2016.
