Fundamentals to watch out for this week

This week is relatively less risky in terms of volatility due to lack of high-powered data or events. Nevertheless, there are some key important events you should look out for.

What to watch for over the coming days:

  • Central Banks:

Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) is scheduled to announce interest rate decision on Wednesday.

  • Brexit begins:

On Monday, Brexit secretary David Davis is set to meet in Brussels with Michel Barnier, the EU’s chief negotiator, to begin formal talks on the process of untangling the UK from the bloc. The EU will focus on issues of citizens’ rights and the Brexit bill for the next few months. A European Summit is also scheduled this week on 22nd that would discuss EU’s approach to Brexit.

  • MSCI decision on China:

MSCI will announce this week, most likely on Monday, whether it will include Chinese A-listed shares to its emerging markets benchmark. The decision was already reviewed thrice before, over the past years with a no in an answer. Will this time be any different?

Along with the above fundamentals, unscheduled Brexit commentaries, happenings in the Middle East, and Korean peninsula are likely to keep influencing the market.
