BTC/USD has restored its strength to above 15000 levels after it plunged to 11159 levels on December 22. It is currently trading at 15500 levels at the time of writing (Bitstamp).
Ichimoku analysis of daily chart:
Tenkan Sen: 15189.96
Kijun Sen: 14518.05
On the topside, resistance is seen at 15740 (4h 50-SMA) and a break above would target 15986 (10-DMA)/16199 (20-DMA). Further strength would see it testing 16231 (2h 200-SMA)/16666 (December 08 high)/17000.
On the reverse side, support is seen at 14231 (4h 20-SMA) and any violation would see it testing 13890 (1h 50-SMA)/13595 (4h 200-SMA). Further weakness would target 13220 (38.2% retracement of 2792.01 and 19666)/13007 (lower Bollinger)/12610 (50% retracement of 5555.55 and 19666)/12161 (55-EMA)/11159 (December 22 low).
Momentum studies: On the daily chart, RSI is above the 50-mark at 55, while MACD line is below the signal line. The pair’s upside is being capped by 10-DMA and a decisive break above would see further upside. Bias is bullish on the intraday charts.
