FxWirePro: GBP/AUD eases slightly, focus on near-term support

• GBP/AUD edged lower  on Thursday  as  investors awaited details on a proposed deal to end the Iran conflict and ahead of Friday's monthly U.S. jobs report.

•   Thin   trading conditions persisted, with markets largely shrugging off the U.S. initial jobless claims data. Meanwhile, higher UK gilt yields provided some support but failed to prevent the pound’s decline.

•  Rising oil prices amid renewed Middle East tensions, along with higher U.S. Treasury yields, boosted demand for the dollar and weighed on GBP/AUD

•  Investors remained focused on Friday’s U.S. nonfarm payrolls report, with jobless claims suggesting payroll growth could come in slightly stronger. Attention will later shift toward upcoming UK and U.S. CPI inflation data for further policy clues.

• Immediate resistance is located at 1.9158(SMA 20), any close above will push the pair towards 1.9187(38.2%fib).

• Immediate support is seen at 1.9006(Lower BB) and break below could take the pair towards 1.8927(23.6%fib).

Recommendation: Good to sell around 1.9150, with stop loss of 1.9200 and target price of 1.9050
