Lots of economic data and events scheduled for today, and some with high volatility risks associated.

Data released so far:

  • China: NBS manufacturing PMI declined to 49.4 in May suggesting a contraction in the Chinese manufacturing sector.
     
  • Australia: Private sector credit rose 0.2 percent in April, up 3.7 percent from a year ago.
     
  • Japan: Consumer confidence declined to 39.4 in May. Housing starts down 5.7 percent from a year ago. Construction orders down 19.9 percent from a year ago.

Upcoming:

  • Germany: Retail sales report for the month of April due at 6:00 GMT, followed by CPI inflation report at 12:00 GMT.
     
  • United Kingdom: Nationwide house price report will be released at 6:00 GMT, followed by consumer credit and money supply statistics at 8:30 GMT.
     
  • Italy: Q1 GDP report due at 8:00 GMT, followed by CPI and PPI inflation reports at 9:00 GMT.
     
  • Spain: March current account balance numbers to be updated at 8:00 GMT.
     
  • United States: Personal income and expenditure report due at 12:30 GMT, followed by Chicago PMI at 13:45 GMT, and Michigan consumer confidence at 14:00 GMT.
     
  • Canada: Raw material and industrial product price indices would be updated at 12:30 GMT, along with the release of the Q1 GDP report.
