- Australia: Westpac consumer confidence declined 1.5 percent in August. Home loans grew by 0.5 percent in June, while investment lending for homes grew by 1.6 percent.
- China: Consumer price inflation rose by 0.1 percent in July, up 1.4 percent from a year ago. Producer price inflation came at 5.5 percent y/y in July.
Upcoming:
- Japan: Machine tools orders report will be published at 6:00 GMT.
- Italy: Industrial output report will be published at 8:00 GMT.
- Greece: Consumer price inflation report will be released at 9:00 GMT.
- Portugal: Global trade balance report will be released at 10:00 GMT.
- United States: MBA mortgage applications report will be published at 11:00 GMT, followed by unit labor costs and nonfarm productivity for the second quarter. EIA will release weekly crude oil inventory report at 14:30 GMT.
- Canada: Housing starts report will be released at 12:15 GMT, followed by building permits report at 12:30 GMT.
- New Zealand: RBNZ will announce interest rate decision at 21:00 GMT, followed by electronic card retail sales at 22:45 GMT.
- Japan: Domestic corporate goods price report will be published at 23:50 GMT.
- Auction: The US will auction 10-year notes at 17:00 GMT.
