After a positive day of negotiations on Wednesday, lunch and a signing ceremony between President Trump and North Korean supreme leader Kim Jon-Un has been abruptly called off.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced to reporters, who have been waiting for the lunch and the signing that the plans were canceled and President Trump would be holding a press conference at 2 pm local time.
She further added that negotiations would be wrapping up in the next 30 minutes, she said, after which Trump will return to his hotel for a press conference.
She didn’t answer reporters' questions on why the two events were canceled.
This was the second summit attended by the two leaders after they made initial progress last year when a sitting U.S. President met North Korean leader for the first time in history. Does this mean that the negotiations are not going as expected today after positive talks yesterday?
