G-Dragon has finally been released from the army last weekend. As expected even if YG Entertainment published a statement asking fans not to come to the discharge site anymore, they still flocked to Yongin to welcome the BIGBANG leader back.
Fans waited for hours to welcome Jiyong
G-Dragon whose real name is Kwon Ji Yong returned to the civil life on Oct. 26 after serving in the military for 20 months. According to Reuters, around 3,000 fans greeted the 31-year-old singer and about 500 of them are Japanese, Chinese and other fans from Asia who waited outside the base since Friday evening even if the weather was really cold.
The BIGBANG member waved and met the fans at 8 a.m. and he spoke with them for a bit before leaving. He was touched and told them, “Thank you for waiting, I will return to my job and faithful to my work.”
GD’s place of discharge was changed at the last minute due to fear that people will get infected with swine flu. He was supposed to be in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province but he was transferred to Yongin so that the African swine fever (ASF) will not spread since fans are expected to come. The said province has been confirmed to have detected the virus.
TOP welcomes GD
Fellow BIGBANG member, TOP greeted G-Dragon upon his discharge through a hilarious edited photo. The other half of the GD & TOP duo re-uploaded the image that was edited by his fan and it shows him and the “girl” G-Dragon hugging and almost kissing. The fans who created the picture is fond of editing photos and integrating TOP’s face on various bodies.
Meanwhile, Kwon Dami, G-Dragon’s sister also posted a photo of their family as they celebrate her little brother’s return. Unfortunately, one of her posts about the celebration was bashed by fans of BTS because the fashion designer uploaded an image of fireworks that she didn’t know was put up for BTS’ concert at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. She was attacked by the ARMYS for taking that photo and posting as she welcomes her brother home.
