The next big update for “Grand Theft Auto’s” online multiplayer is officially called “GTA Online: Los Santos Tuners” and it is confirmed to launch next week. While new races are some of the highlights in the new set of content, the trailer has made it known that there is no beef in these competitions.
The core of the “GTA Online: Los Santos Tuners” update is the social space that will be known as LS Car Meet. It is described as a platform where car-loving fans will be able to show off their car and customizations to fellow fans.
The LS Car Meet has a “good vibes only” rule, so it should be a nice break from being chased by law enforcement or other enemies in the streets. However, Rockstar Games’ announcement also notes that the social space also offers a good way to “link up with shady contacts looking for skilled drivers and a chance at easy money.”
To join LS Car Meet, players will have to find the “non-descript, graffitied warehouse” in Cypress Flats. Players will know they are in the right location when they start hearing roaring car engines or once they find a “makeshift finish line” on the road. Joining the club is not free, though, and fans will have to spend GTA$50,000 to become a member. This will unlock new features, including a new Reputation progression, an underground Test Track where Test Rides are done.
However, the highlights of “GTA Online: Los Santos Tuners” are the new races that are situated both on the Test Track and on the roads of Los Santos. In the Test Track, members of the LS Car Meet can participate in friendly, short-format Head-to-Head races. Up to four players can join in the Scramble races that will run through 20 checkpoints.
Club members will also gain access to the new series in “GTA Online: Los Santos Tuners.” The Street Race Series that features “creative tracks” across Los Santos. The Pursuit Series, on the other hand, offers a little more action. It involves various checkpoints scattered all around the city, which means racers will get the attention of the LSPD at some point.
