A new extended teaser has been revealed for the upcoming Season 7 of “Game Of Thrones,” and reports are suggesting that they show a glimpse of some of the characters’ fates in the show.
The video included an interview of “Game Of Thrones” costume designer Michelle Clapton, who proceeds to discuss her process in creating costumes, including the show’s major characters like Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). The costumes, as Digital Spy noted, were clearly made for the winter weather, which is a further sign that they are indeed will be preparing for major battles between families and the army of the Night’s King.
But another detail fans are noticing is a very familiar Valyrian steel blade on actor Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark in the series. The blade, as one Redditor deduced, is the same catspawn blade from Season 1.
Joanna Robinson for Vanity Fair posits:
“So Arya Stark is going home, probably. Fine. Littlefinger may either decide to give the blade to Arya, or she may take it by force. Sure. But what’s even more intriguing is the notion of Arya Stark with a nice bit of Valyrian steel in her assassin-trained hand. We learned seasons ago, when Jon Snow fought the battle of Hardhome, that Valyrian steel is one of the few weapons that can actually kill a White Walker.”
Inverse also said that considering Arya is already a trained assassin, and the last owner of the catspawn blade was Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), it is most likely that Littlefinger might have met his match in the future, and that Arya could be a formidable weapon against the Night King.
“Arya’s way of obtaining such an item would not involve politely asking Littlefinger to give it up, and Littlefinger is hardly the type of guy to hand a fancy Valyrian blade to Arya Stark,” Lauren Sarner for the site said.
