Prior to joining GCG, Mendoza was senior counsel for Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann (BLB&G), a longtime GCG client, where for nearly 15 years she litigated some of the firm’s most notable class action, securities fraud and complex commercial cases. As counsel in several high-profile and ground-breaking matters, she helped secure more than one billion dollars in recoveries, and worked closely with GCG’s team in the administration of many of those settlements. Mendoza’s distinguished career includes serving as a judicial law clerk in the United States District Court for the District of Oregon; representing plaintiffs and defendants in commercial and employment litigation in both Hawaii and California; and overseeing the direction and content of the Oregon Law Review as managing editor.
“I am honored to have litigated with, and against, some of the greatest and most creative legal minds of our time,” commented Mendoza. “To take that insight and knowledge to GCG, whose commitment to quality and unparalleled track record I have personally experienced, it just doesn’t get any better than that.”
As vice president, client strategy and development, Mendoza will have both internal and client-facing responsibilities. Drawing on her unique perspective and class action expertise, she will identify development opportunities and design and execute a comprehensive proposal strategy to further reinforce GCG’s strong market position. In keeping with GCG’s commitment to provide valuable insight at each stage of the administration process, Mendoza will consult with clients to tailor program design and administration strategies that achieve their project goals in efficient and cost-effective ways. Additionally, she will continue to cultivate strong and cooperative relationships with GCG’s clients and partners, both in the U.S. and internationally.
“We have witnessed firsthand Niki’s achievements over the years and couldn’t be happier to welcome her to GCG,” said Kenneth Cutshaw, president and chief executive officer. “She is an accomplished and respected class action attorney whose guidance will help broaden our development efforts and strengthen our client relationships. She will undoubtedly add significant value to our team.”
Mendoza earned her B.A. and J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Oregon. She lives in Corvallis, Oregon, with her husband and their two children.
