Anadolu Agency reported on Oct. 30 that Gen Z Regelt's website listed more than 154,000 registrations for the demonstrations. Rallies were planned in Berlin and 30 other cities for Saturday, Oct. 31. The website figure records sign-ups, not confirmed attendance.

The protests oppose social-spending cuts and plans for compulsory military service. In an open letter to Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Gen Z Regelt urged the government to invest more in schools and distribute savings more evenly between generations. EconoTimes previously covered the campaign's school-funding appeal.

The initiative's position paper says young people bear austerity's costs while large companies benefit and public money goes to rearmament. These are the campaign's claims about how government spending choices affect different groups.

A German government briefing on Oct. 28 said federal security authorities were monitoring mobilization. Authorities reported no further information about specific calls for violence or planned violent unrest, while noting that some extremist groups were joining the mobilization.

Anadolu Agency reported that youth organizations of the Greens and The Left backed an International Youth Strike Day planned for Nov. 20.
