LOS ANGELES, April 10, 2017 -- Global Eagle Entertainment Inc. (NASDAQ:ENT) (“Global Eagle” or “Company”), a leading provider of global satellite-based connectivity and media to rapidly expanding mobility markets, today announced the appointment of Paul Rainey as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Rainey commenced employment on April 3, 2017. Mr. Rainey will also assume the responsibilities of principal financial officer, which Jeff Leddy, CEO of Global Eagle, previously held on an interim basis. Mr. Rainey most recently served as CFO of Harris CapRock Communications, a division of Harris Corporation (“Harris”), where he helped rebuild and redesign the finance team.
“With his significant experience in our industry and strong financial background, we are pleased to have Paul join Global Eagle’s executive team,” said Mr. Leddy. “We are confident Paul will help us in achieving our short and long-term goals while also guiding the finance team to meet its objectives.”
Earlier in his career and prior to Harris, Mr. Rainey held numerous roles at General Electric (“GE”). Paul served as Chief Financial Officer for two separate businesses while there. These included the Power Equipment group and Lighting Professional Solutions, with both businesses driving approximately $1 billion in annual revenue. Prior to these positions, he held multiple FP&A and audit roles at GE.
