The independence referendum carried out by Catalonia, which is a Spanish region on 1st October and the Spanish government-inflicted violence on the day of the referendum injuring 900 Catalonia voters led to an international outrage and has rocked the European Union. Here are the latest updates,

  • Spain’s constitutional court has moved to stop the Catalan government making a unilateral declaration of independence by suspending the regional parliament session in which the results of Sunday’s referendum were due to be discussed.
