Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, once again declared and tried to make it clear that Mexico will not be paying for the Trump wall, the wall the President of the United States has proposed during his campaign along the Mexican border to curb immigration. The reaction from Mr. Pena came after President Trump signed two executive orders on Wednesday; one directing the construction of the wall along the Mexican border, boosting border patrol forces and increasing the numbers of immigration enforcement officers to carry out deportations. Mr. Trump signed those on the very same day the economy minister and foreign minister of Mexico were in the United States of America (USA) holding talks with officials at Trump administration.
After signing the executive orders, Mr. Trump speaking to an interview for ABC news asserted that Mexico will reimburse the cost of the wall 100 percent. But Mr. Nieto in the nationally televised speech said, “Mexico does not believe in walls. I've said time and again: Mexico will not pay for any wall." Given the importance of the wall for Mr. Trump’s legacy or re-election, expect him to fight till last breath to get the payments from Mexico.
