Global Geopolitical Series: Kim Jong-Un reportedly arrives in Beijing as world prepares for Kim-Trump summit

The world is watching closely as reports suggest that North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong-Un arrived in Beijing earlier this week in his father’s armored train as Kim prepares to meet U.S. President Donald Trump who earlier this month accepted an invitation from the North Korean leader, who expressed his eagerness to meet the U.S. President during his meeting with the special envoys of South Korean President Moon Jae in.  The meeting is expected to take place in May and probably in Sweden. North and South Korea also agreed to a preparatory summit on March 29th to be held at the truce village near the border.

Though Kim couldn’t be seen any of the videos that surfaced in the net via news agencies and spectators but Kim’s father’s armored train could be seen arriving in Beijing. Here is a link to a video showing the train https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXY5X8BUoqY . The next video from Associated Press suggests that Kim leaving Beijing to board the train amid tightened security, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6hvwPCsr_I. There were no statements either from China’s foreign ministry or North Korea’s state broadcaster on the visit.

If the report turns out to be true, this would be Kim's first foreign visit since he assumed reign in 2011.
