GoPro Inc, an American manufacturer of action cameras, has announced a new camera in its product line-up, GoPro Hero+. Priced at $200, it finds a slot between entry-level Hero ($130) and the more recently announced Hero+ LCD ($300).
The Verge reports that on the outside, the new Hero+ looks similar to the base model, but on the inside the camera equipment is better than Hero+ LCD. Some key features are:
- It enables recording at resolutions up to 1080p at 60fps along with 8 MP photos
- Features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth that provides access to GoPro App and Smart Remote
- Enables full camera control, shot preview, content playback and sharing (on Instagram, Facebook and more)
- It’s waterproof down to 40 meters
- It is small, portable and allows for low-profile mounting
Smart Remote, that is sold separately, allows controlling multiple GoPros from distances of up to 600’ (180m). Moreover, Gizmodo reports that Hero+ also has options for SuperView, a mode that crams more into the top and bottom of your shot—which is nice for board sports and POV video.
Auto Low Light mode changes frame rates based on lighting conditions for optimal low-light performance, enabling to move between bright and dark environments without having to adjust camera settings.
