“Goblin Slayer” has been a surprisingly imaginative anime that circumvents expectations about its characters in ways that fans hope will continue as the animated series progresses. But with “Goblin Slayer” episode 5 just around the corner, the upcoming episode seems to promies a quieter take on Goblin Slayer's life.
The “Goblin Slayer” episode 5 promo clip gives fans a glimpse of the Goblin Slayer's life beyond the twisting maze of the goblin caves. The clip's voiceover seems to imply that the High Elf Archer is speaking to the Goblin Slayer as the head to his farmstead, but fans of the manga know that the lines being spoken by the High Elf Archer are her promised reward after she and the Goblin Slayer protect the farm from a goblin attack which may happen in the upcoming episode.
According to OtakuKart, fans can expect to meet the Goblin Slayer's childhood friends in “Goblin Slayer” episode 5. Due to the more subdued theme of the upcoming episode, there is a possibility that the Goblin Slayer takes off his armor to take a moment to rest. Fans can also expect a homefront conflict that needs to be dealt with – specifically, one of Goblin Slayer's female friends asking him to settle down and lay down his sword.
Considering that the Goblin Slayer lives for the goblin hunt, fans can expect the hero to decline the offer in “Goblin Slayer” episode 5. But the publication also suggests that while the upcoming episode will flesh out the Goblin Slayer's domestic life, trouble is brewing in the background, which will inevitably lead to the Goblin Slayer definitely needing to take up his sword.
Fans looking forward to seeing how the Goblin Slayer spends his downtime in between slaying goblins for a living can catch “Goblin Slayer” episode 5 when it airs during its usual Sunday broadcast schedule on Nov. 4. Fans can also stream the upcoming episode simultaneously with its broadcast schedule on Crunchyroll.
