When it comes to anime returns that are highly anticipated by the community “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 is right up there with “Overlord” Season 4 and “My Hero Academia” Season 4. However, there has been very little news with regards to this particular anime, thus leading some fans to become antsy. If it does end up happening, the promised return of the show is likely to focus even more on Goblin Slayer’s character development. Slaying goblins and epic battles will simply be incidental.
As MonstersAndCritics recently reported, the author of the light novel with which the anime is based on, Kagyu Kumo intentionally set up the story so that Orcbolg will be the main focus. That is to say, how he changes to become less of an oddball is the point, with everything else simply being a bonus. This trend is likely to continue in “Goblin Slayer” Season 2.
While the anime does showcase plenty of killing and fan service, these are just backdrops to what changes Orcbolg has undergone and will undergo. From a relentless killing machine thinking only of killing goblins, he has since softened up enough to let people become close to him. This will develop further in “Goblin Slayer” Season 2, where he will loosen up as a character even more.
Of course, there will still be plenty of action to be had, with “Goblin Slayer” Season 2, in particular, promising some epic fights to be had. An invasion featuring an army of goblins will be the focal point of the season, for example, with remnants of the Demon Lord’s army being the main cause.
As things stand, “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 has yet to have an official air date. However, when taking production time into account, it may come out in 2021 if work starts late this year.
