‘Goblin Slayer Season 2’ release date: Next entry unlikely to come out this year; Late 2020 still the most probable

“Goblin Slayer” Season 2 has been the talk of the anime community for a while after the first entry made a huge splash in the mainstream scene. With its gory and brutal narrative, the series was received with some negativity at the start as some of the scenes were so jarring, especially for the genre.

Over time, however, fans quickly warmed up to the show and its reserved and stoic protagonist. Now, a lot of people have been wondering when “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 will be released.

As of this writing, White Fox – the studio handling the show’s animation – hasn’t announced anything. What’s certain now is that “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 will not be coming out this year, GameRevolution reported.

Goblin Slayer Season 2 likely to come out in 2020/2021

This is due to the fact that White Fox got its hands full working on “Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest” and “The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious.” The best we can hope for “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 is a late 2020 release, although pushing the second entry to 2021 isn’t out of the question either.

With regard to its plot, the next installment will likely focus on the Harvest Festival Arc, Temple of Doom, and Wizard Boy’s story. Depending on how many cour “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 will have, it’s possible to condense at least two of the narratives together.

Goblin Slayer Season 2 to pit Orcbolg against Demon Lord’s lackey

Temple of Doom will have Orcbolg and his companions take out demons and necromancers. Wizard Boy will be a new character that will have a backstory similar to Orcbolg. And Harvest Festival will deal with a powerful new villain called Dark Elf. Of the three, the Harvest Festival will likely cap off “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 on account that it depicts a major battle.

Indeed, the Dark Elf is merely a lackey of the Demon Lord who means to use the inhabitants of Frontier Town to unleash an ancient titan that roam the land in the age of the gods. Dark Elf is the one behind the attack on Water Town, as well. Needless to say that this antagonist will die at the hands of Orcbolg before he can fulfill his plans in “Goblin Slayer” Season 2. Expect the next entry to have a smattering of brutal and heartbreaking scenes, as well as heartwarming moments between Orcbolg, Priestess, and Elf Archer.
