Google has announced its plans to launch an anti-misinformation campaign across five countries in the European Union, just in time for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Reuters reported that the Digital Services Act, which will come into effect this week, will require extensive online platforms and search engines to tackle illegal content and ensure public security proactively. Google's internal unit, Jigsaw, will be spearheading the campaign. Jigsaw has conducted successful campaigns in Germany and central Europe, aiming to reach citizens in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, and Poland.
