Are you an iOS mobile phone owner who don’t want to get stuck in traffic? Apparently, the new Google Maps update can help you with that.
Phonedog reports that along with the version 4.12.0 update, Google Maps on iOS is to get a spoken traffic alerts. This feature will be made available if a user is in Navigation mode. Supposedly, a user will get a summary of the traffic conditions, including congestions or incidents, on your chosen route prior to the start, or even during your journey.
Android Central said the spoken news alerts feature was first debuted on Android back in May. User behavior is clearly not being controlled here, as the feature also services those who decide to choose a particular route should one chooses to ignore a suggested route that’s less congestion.
"While you're on the road, Google Maps will give you a heads up if congestion lies ahead, and how long you'll be stuck in a jam. You'll also get the option to take alternate routes, including explanations for why one is recommended—whether it's the fastest or avoids an incident," the company said in its announcement.
