‘Gotham’ season 3’s episode 7, entitled “Red Queen”, will feature Jim Gordon tripping on psychedelics as he is forced to confront old demons. Meanwhile, Penguin becomes troubled by Nygma’s new relationship with Isabella.
The synopsis posted on Carter Matt stated, “After coming in contact with a substance by the hand of Mad Hatter, Jim Gordon gets led on a psychedelic trip and must confront his past, present and future. Meanwhile, Penguin struggles with Nygma’s new relationship.”
The incoming episode will find Jim (Ben McKenzie) tripping on some hallucinogenic substances all thanks to his nemesis Jervis Tetch a.k.a. Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel). In the promo, Mad Hatter blows some colored powder all over Jim, which takes the latter on a psychedelic trip. Images from his life flash before his eyes and he is forced to confront old demons as well as new ones.
In the preceding episode, entitled “Follow the White Rabbit”, Mad Hatter shot Valerie (Jamie Chung) after Jim chose her over Lee (Morena Baccarin) on one of his sadistic games. The villain previously asked Jim who he loved more so he could shoot one and spare the other. Jim picked Valerie but Mad Hatter decided it was better to turn the tables.
Meanwhile, Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Nygma’s (Cory Michael Smith) relationship got a little more complicated. It seems that Penguin has transcended from brotherly affection to pure love. However, he is yet to figure out a way to show Nygma that.
It seems that season 7 will find Penguin troubled by Nygma’s new relationship with the mysterious Isabella. According to Den of Geek, episode 6 followed Penguin as he managed to invite Nygma to his mansion for a romantic evening, presumably to open up about his feelings.
However, Nygma became distracted by a beautiful blonde resembling Kristen Kringle, an ex-girlfriend he murdered. Chelsea Spack returns to portray Isabella. Spack played Kristen in the past episodes. It would be interesting how Penguin would confront this new relationship.
‘Gotham’ season 3’s episode 7, entitled “Red Queen”, is scheduled to premiere on Fox on October 31, 2016. The crime-drama television series was developed by Bruno Heller, and is based on the characters from DC’s Batman franchise.
