Fans of one of Cartoon Network's most beloved shows, Adventure Time, were treated to a video clip of BMO, the first of the four one-hour long special with the title Adventure Time: Distant Lands.
The video clip is the first four minutes of BMO which streaming service HBO Max will be dropping on June 25, 2020.
The Adventure Time: Distant Lands is produced by the Cartoon Network Studios and is based on the series created by Pendleton Ward.
The first special features sentient video game gadget named BMO which is an abbreviation of "Be More".
BMO was one of the main characters of Adventure Time which the Cartoon Network first aired in April of 2010. It was hailed as the best show of the Cartoon Network in 2010. The show lasted for 10 seasons in a span of eight years. Its final season, aired in September of 2018 to the dismay of many of its fans.
In the original series, BMO was always safeguarding his friends, the human Finn and the dog Jake.
In the first episode of the special, BMO was on his way to Mars to plant some potatoes. However, an alien kidnaps BMO and was brought to a very distant land whose inhabitants needed saving.
The second episode—Obsidian will have fans seeing Princess Bubblegum and Marceline arriving in 2020 while the third—Wizard City, will be about Peppermint Butler.
The fourth and final episode of the special will reunite fans with Finn and Jake, aptly titled Together Again.
The original series, Adventure Time, was canceled because Finn was already approaching adulthood, thus ending his story arc.
It is unlikely that the Cartoon Network will be bringing the show back. The Adventure Time: Distant Lands will be the closest that fans could get in terms of a comeback for the show.
