After a brief hiatus, Steve (Alex O’Loughlin), Danny (Scott Caan), and the rest of the team are returning this week with an all-new case in “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 9. And, along the way, Steve discovers that his partner has been hiding a “superpower” all this time.
Fans of the Hawaii-set cop procedural show might have missed it for an entire week but the wait will be worth it this Friday night. “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 9 returns and it can be confirmed that there will be another bonus bromance banter between Steve and Danny.
In a funny “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 9 promo video, Danny argues that it is extremely absurd to “wear tights” while fighting crimes. He is no longer a big fan of comic book superheroes while Steve obviously feels otherwise. Danny adds he prefers to worry about real things now, which leads Steve to conclude that his partner’s superpower is to “irritate people to death.”
On a more serious note, all these superhero talks in “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 9 begins with the death of a locally famous vigilante named Gene Wahele a.k.a. Night Sentinel (Kalae Chung). He dresses like a superhero every time he saves a citizen.
The victim videotapes his actions and uploads it online with the earliest documentation dating back to 2015. He has “over a hundred” videos posted online and made 37 arrests before he dies in “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 9.
A result of an investigation is often unexpected in this show. But the “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 9 teasers suggest that team will initially look into drug dealers and gang members to find the Night Sentinel’s killer. Finding their primary suspect is not an issue as Lou (Chi McBride) and Steve are seen interrogating another guest character named Niko (Cody Gomes).
“Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 9 is titled “Mai ka po mai ka ‘oia’i’o” that translates to “Truth Comes from the Night” — fittingly, with an obvious comic book flair to it. The show returns on Friday, Nov. 30, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
