MARYSVILLE, Wash., Aug. 07, 2017 -- Health First Chiropractic announced its upcoming backpack drive to support the students of Liberty Elementary School. At this school, 85 percent of students are receiving free or reduced-cost lunches, which indicates that many of them will also have trouble obtaining their needed school supplies. The drive will supply these items and ensure that the children's education won't be hampered from lacking these essentials. The drive is taking place at Health First Chiropractic's office from August 7-12. On the final day, designated as Kids’ Day, established patients under 17 also will be able to come in for free visits.
Every year, parents rush to get a whole list of items that schools say their children will need for the upcoming year. For some, however, the stress involved has nothing to do with having to fight through crowds of other parents at the stores. Instead, it comes from simply trying to pay for everything. In many cases, Marysville parents find that it simply cannot be done.
Health First Chiropractic's backpack drive is meant to eliminate this problem. The event, which runs from August 7 through August 12, allows donors who are also new patients to get an exam, consultation, and first-visit X-rays for just $50 and a backpack. Those backpacks will then be filled with supplies paid for with the proceeds. On the 12th, the event will be accompanied by the clinic's Kids’ Day, which offers established patients who are under 17 free visits on that day.
"A full 85 percent of students at Liberty Elementary School are getting free or reduced-cost lunches, and from this, we can guess that they also need help with other school basics. Our backpack drive helps address this need. However, we don't think the health needs of children should be ignored either. Therefore, we're offering free visits for our current young patients at the end of the drive. This way, everyone gets something useful out of our events," said Dr. Robert Clarke, DC of Health First Chiropractic.
To participate in the backpack drive, just bring $50 and an empty backpack to Health First Chiropractic. Be sure to leave time for the exam and consultation, too.
