Hedera’s HBAR Soars: Whale Accumulation and Institutional Demand Fuel Triple-Digit Gains

With total value locked rising from $151 million to over $215 million in a week and decentralized exchange volumes surpassing $80 million, Hedera's DeFi and enterprise ecosystems have shown phenomenal development in July 2025. High-profile alliances—such as acting as the primary ledger for sovereign AI projects, including major corporations like NVIDIA and Accenture—have further boosted the network's reputation, while continuous collaborations with Google, IBM, and Boeing bolster institutional trust. Recent optimism around a possible spot ETF for HBAR, along with Hedera's technical advantages (carbon-negative status, ABFT consensus, and strong governance model), has boosted investor attitude and drawn large capital inflows, positioning HBAR as among the most carefully watched tokens in the market.

Aggressive accumulation by whale wallets has been a major cause behind HBAR's price rise; several accounts hold over 10 million HBAR and actively transact tens of millions of dollars' worth of tokens and stablecoins. These major holders helped HBAR overtake Avalanche in market capitalization and fueled a 44% price rise above $0. 25, maintaining the token stable above $0. 23 amid more general instability. The network's growing DeFi infrastructure, increased stablecoin integration, and noteworthy exchange listings, such as Kraken, also helped to create ecosystem momentum. Significant whale deposits to exchanges, however, indicate possible short-term volatility even as basic and institutional interest point toward Hedera's ongoing rise in the Layer 1 blockchain sector.
