MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 07, 2017 -- HelpSystems has announced the newest version of its managed file transfer product, GoAnywhere MFT. This release introduces several enhancements to current features, including a Google map view that gives users visibility into their worldwide file transfer activity and a new database-driven way to manage keys and certificates.
HelpSystems is dedicated to giving IT professionals a better way to solve their business problems. Through the addition of a map view for remote GoAnywhere Agents, users can now graphically see the status of all their remote installations and quickly manage them based on their location. This comprehensive look at an organization’s Agents limits overall downtime, giving admins peace of mind that their critical tasks and transfers will run when scheduled.
“Let’s say you run a franchise with dozens of locations,” said Bob Luebbe, GoAnywhere Chief Architect, HelpSystems. “With the map view, you can keep track of each store, check their status, and see when jobs are scheduled to pull sales data—all at-a-glance. We also added several new Agent tasks to this release that allow GoAnywhere to automatically send and retrieve emails, transfer files using SFTP and SCP, encrypt and decrypt files with PGP, and more.”
A new database-driven Key Management System (KMS) was added in this version as well. KMS provides GoAnywhere users the option to easily manage their keys and certificates, which are used to validate and secure communications between servers. The KMS system makes it easy for administrators to create independent key vaults to organize keys based on how they are used.
“Previously, key management was file-based, meaning each GoAnywhere server and Agent needed access to the keys’ file locations,” said Steve Luebbe, GoAnywhere Director of Engineering, HelpSystems. “For this release, we really wanted to make encryption and authentication easier to manage across several different teams. Keys are now embedded in the GoAnywhere database. This new way of handling key management should provide our customers with better organization, flexibility, and security.”
The new key management feature also allows remote Agents to provide security for file transfer and file encryption tasks.
