Joining the list of elite fashion brands that are now dabbling in the smart wear market, famous watch retailer Michael Kors unveiled the “Access,” which is a truly huge entry. The smartwatch is so big it even rivals the Gear S3 that Samsung announced, which also stands on a similarly grandiose platform.
As Phone Arena points out, a number of fashion-centric watch brands have started offering their own electronic wearables, with some seeing more success than others. Michael Kors is just the latest to join this prestigious group, and it is doing so in the grandest manner possible.
To compare, the “Gear S3” has a watch face surface 46mm wide. This makes it an incredibly large wearable that even large-wristed reviewers found a little awkward to wear. The “Access” offers a similarly huge hardware, though the retailer was smart enough to at least provide women with a smaller option, Tech Crunch notes.
The “Dylan” is the much bigger and more rugged option that is specifically tailored to men who might be living an active lifestyle. The “Bradshaw” is the smaller version that is intended for smaller-framed women to wear, though at 44.5mm, it could still be considered incredibly huge by normal standards.
In terms of specs, the “Access” sports the Android OS, which is only to be expected. It also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor, The Verge notes, 4GB of storage space, and a 320x290 pixel display.
For those who are interested, the watch costs $350 for the starting price. One thing to note, however, is the waterproof feature of the watch only extends to 1 atm. This makes it unreliable if you are thinking about taking it for a swim or doing any kind of activity on the water. By all accounts, the “Access” seems made more for fashion than anything else.
