“High School Musical 4” is happening and Disney already confirmed. Actually, the production company announced the return of the favorite teen musical movie in 2016 but clearly it has yet to be released even after three years.
"High School Musical is part of Disney Channel's DNA. It embodies all that we stand for," E! News quoted Gary Marsh, Disney Channel’s president as saying. "As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we're excited to announce 'the start of something new' as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the 'High School Musical' franchise.”
According to reports, “High School Musical 4” is also called “High School Musical: East Meets West” and this is because the rivalry between the East High’s Wildcats and the West High’s Knights will continue in the upcoming movie. So, what can the fans expect from the fourth movie sequel?
Characters
While “High School Musical 4” will definitely feature a different cast lineup, Seventeen reported that the characters will be completely new as well. This means that fans will not see the old high school teens like Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, and Chad but the new film will focus on the lives of Erin, Campbell, Derek, Tamara, and Nathalie now.
Setting/Plot
The original story was about Troy Bolton, a basketball and theater star in his school but in “High School Musical 4,” Campbell will take over as the popular boy in the campus who plays soccer and very much into theater. Campbell likes his co-soccer player named Erin but she likes someone else.
What’s more, unlike in the previous movie, “High School Musical 4” will not be set in the Wildcat’s home ground. This time, everything will happen in West High’s territory and this makes the story even more interesting. Finally, everyone would like to know when “High School Musical 4” is coming but sadly, no release date is available yet.
