We are pretty sure that all you fans out there thinks that all the waiting you had to do was all worth it as this week's premiere of the hit TV series 'House of Cards' was intense and well-written. So, here is a review of this week's episode. Spoilers ahead!
The team clearly outdid theirselves this time as we got to see how Frank will have to do now that his wife Claire is out and is on her way to Texas. The press are getting more and more curious and intrusive as to what is the status between the two now that they aren't seen together more often.
Frank is Frank arrives at his hotel in New Hampshire and questions Meechum as to what he remembers from his last encounter with Claire. As it turns out, Claire is eyeing for the congressiomal seat in Texas. The problem is, as what her politcal analyst said, the retiring incumbent has endorsed her daughter for the seat.
Claire, being the clever woman that she is, tells her,"The congresswoman would need to be convinced" that allowing Claire to run for the seat instead would be in her daughter's best interest.
Frank, on the other hand, learns of Claire's plan and gets ahead of her by telling Doug to pay a visit to the incumbent congresswoman Cicely Tyson, played by Doris Jones, and feed her lies and false information. So when Claire met Doris, she figured it out and told her he truth and asks Celia to wait two more years for the seat, but Doris says that her daughter has already waited too long.
And in order for Frank to stop the media from knowing the whole truth, he personally paid a visit to Claire and blackmailed her. It was then discovered that Claire's mother. played by Burstyn, is suffering from lymphoma. Frank then tells her to use this information as the reason that she went home and not because their relationship is crumbling.
This has angered Claire's mother by using her as a cover up. Claire enters her mom's bedroom, later, and sees her wig on a dresser, a necessity after rounds of radiation and chemotherapy. "I understand why you did what you did, but that doesn't make it any less hurtful," Mrs. Hale tells Claire.
The next scene was so intense and emotional as it turned out that the two weren't that close but after a few moments, Mrs. Hale hugs her daughter. "Claire, come here," she says, and wraps her arms around her. "You're stronger than he is. But you've gotta put him in his place."
Exciting isn't? Frank better be ready for this as the mother and daughter tandem might dish out some serious damage to Frank.
