Hyperliquid is heading into October with another major token unlock that could put HYPE firmly on crypto traders’ radar. Onchain tokenomics data shows the decentralized trading platform is preparing to release approximately $856 million worth of HYPE tokens on October 6.
The scheduled Hyperliquid token unlock is particularly significant because it represents the largest single crypto token release currently expected in October. Across the broader cryptocurrency market, roughly $1.3 billion worth of tokens are scheduled to be unlocked during the month, meaning HYPE accounts for a substantial majority of the anticipated total.
Large token unlocks often attract investor attention because they increase the amount of an asset potentially available in circulation. Depending on how recipients handle newly unlocked tokens, such events can affect market liquidity and selling pressure. However, an unlock does not necessarily mean that all released tokens will immediately enter the market.
HYPE has already become one of the more closely watched cryptocurrencies due to its strong price movements and Hyperliquid’s growing presence in the decentralized finance sector. The project’s recurring token releases have also made its unlock schedule an important factor for traders monitoring potential changes in supply.
The impact of the October 6 unlock on the HYPE price remains uncertain. An increase in available supply could create additional selling pressure, while continued demand for Hyperliquid could help absorb newly released tokens.
Investors are also watching whether the cryptocurrency market’s historically bullish “Uptober” narrative can provide additional momentum. HYPE recorded a modest 1.85% gain in September, extending its positive monthly performance.
If HYPE finishes October higher, the token would record its third consecutive month of gains. Still, the upcoming $856 million Hyperliquid token unlock is likely to remain one of the key events influencing HYPE market sentiment as traders assess supply changes, demand and broader crypto market conditions throughout October.
